"Kuntilanak is a woman ghost from Indonesian folklore. in Malaysia, they call it Pontianak. there are various stories about why they turn into Kuntilanak, and how they look like
She wears white clothing with a beautiful jet black long hair. she hangs around ponds with bamboo trees. she lures men with her beauty. and when the man gets closer, she turns around so that her back is facing the man, her hair swings to her front, revealing the big gaping hole with rotten flesh on her back.
that supposed to scare the man away "

Yea so this Kuntilanak, (from what i hear) in real life, they laugh hysterically like witches and they love to sit on the branches of Ficus benjamina (Beringin Tree..
Hmm well I'm gonna tell you this, what i heard from my ma.. LOL
This lady (Ece being her nickname) she has been helping out at my house since before i was born (she's beside me right now laughing).. OK so, A couple of years back, my family and i were staying oversea and Ece stayed back to look after the house. At that time there was a Beringin tree (really large one, coz its old) growing at the side of the road in front of my house. One night, Ece was resting at the front room (what luck, near the tree. At midnight she heard subtle but hysterical laughter outside, so she went outside to check it out (saw nothing but the laughter was definitely coming from the tree).. this is the hilarious part, she went and sat by the tree (instead of running a way or throwing flame balls at the tree) and asked for the next lottery number.. She sat there (not long i think) and got bored, and kinda just wrote random numbers.. Yes and when the lottery number came out she actually got 4 number right (it's a 5 number combination (its not big money lottery but just within a community kinda thing (hard to explain)).. Later LOL she called us and told us everything.. So my mum paid guys to cut the tree down (really big tree) to a stump.. LOL yeap so thats the history of how i first heard that word Kuntilanak..
There are many ghost stories here in Indonesia, some are true and far too weird.. It's an interesting subject LOL
I'll have some of my friends tell them ther stories too..
